BACKGROUND

The first african Regional Rock mechanics Symposium is to be held
in Cape Town 2017. mining has traditionally been a mainstay of african
economies, while Oil and Gas industries are rapidly growing
throughout africa. infrastructure is being developed to support these
industries. Rock engineering design is and therefore will continue to
be essential for the growth of the continent.

CALL FOR PAPERS

The Symposium is being organised by the Southern african institute of mining and metallurgy, and individuals are invited to submit papers for the Symposium. Titles and short abstracts (no more than 500 words) should be submitted in English to Head of Conferencing, Raymond van der Berg, via e-mail: raymond@saimm.co.za
