Query: Can you please update the 'Ticket Holders' page to reflect the latest tickets issued (in 2018)? Our DMR is questioning certificate numbers and would like to confirm this via the website.
Thank you

Response:

Dear SANIRE Member

Thank you for your suggestion. We will update the webpage as soon as we receive the latest information from the Chamber of Mines, which we have requested.

Query: I would like to know when is the next date for SCO Practical and where would it be hosted?, cause most of the time the date and venue is announced a week prior the examination.

Response:

Dear SANIRE Member

Thanks for your suggestion/comment.

As of 2019 all SCO Practical exam need to be hosted and finalised by your local branch before the end of March so that successful candidates can register in time for the Rock Engineering Papers if they wish to do so. Firstly you will need to register online through the SANIRE website for the exam. This registration then goes to the Branch Chairman who arranges and hosts the practical exam. SANIRE council recommends that you contact your local Branch Chairman/Committee who will be able to assist you with a date.

Query: Good morning, I do not know how you came t the decision of not allowing the candidates to see their scripts and I very much respect it. However, I do not think it is helpful to the candidates who do not do well in these exams as they do not know the mistakes they made and there is a high chance that they might repeat them. To top it off, you no longer post the memorandums which is just not fair to the candidates as they write these exams in hopes of being corrected their wrongs.

Response:

Please note that the candidate can ask for a final mark per question from the Minerals Council (Chamber of Mines). This will assist with the fault finding request. This information can be requested from the Minerals Council (Chamber of Mines) Exam board via email.

Question:

Good day, I would like to inquire about the Rock Mechanics Results. I see the Strata Control Results are out but we haven't received the Rock Mechanics results, is there a specific reason for this?

Response:

Dear Siyabulela Masoka

Thank you for your enquiry. Please note that the custodians of the written exams, exam process and release of results is conducted through the Mineral Corporation (Chamber of Mines). SANIRE does not have access or control over this. Due to the confidentiality and security of the results, the results are uploaded by one person over a period of days after double checking the system before going live. This does delay the process and therefore the process can take longer than two working days.

Thank you for your patience

Query: Guys STOP this nonsense of money making scheme. This RMC exam is never meant to test our competency or capability. Why are we not even getting our script back to see where we answered incorrectly?

Dear SANIRE Member

Please direct your concerns to the Mineral Corporation (Chamber of Mines). They host arrange and organise the exams. SANIRE is purely used for the technical input into exams to ensure a constant standard throughout the years.
